One More Young British Tourist Dies on Koh Tao

Seems Koh Tao is getting a reputation. Quite a few “strange” deaths happened on that island in the last year or so and these are only deaths of the tourists that we hear about because foreign media reports it. I am sure there is much more happening there that might not be reported.

The most famous were the brutal murders of David Miller and Hannah Witheridge in 2014. Two Burmese migrant workers Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo have been the main suspects and recently both have been sentenced to death in a very controversial case and trial.

The Telegraph reports about the latest young tourist death on the island of Koh Tao in mysterious circumstances. The 27 year old Luke Miller was found floating in the hotel pool last week. Local authorities are investigating the death and The UK’s Foreign Office commented they will follow the case and remain in contact with Thai Police. Obviously the case of David and Hannah has left a lot open and this is enough to cast doubt in this case. Hopefully this case will be solved soon.

In the mean time a GoFundMe page has been created to raise money to bring Luke’s body back home so that his family can say good bye to him and send him off in a way he deserves.

Hopefully this case will be solved soon and the body sent back to his parents and friends. May he rest in peace.
